Mr.Liang suspects that those responsible may have wanted to steal his yew trees as they had left behind evidence suggesting this might be so."Although there are security cameras nearby" Mr.Liang laments "I can't access them myself" He hopes police will help him obtain footage from these cameras to identify any perpetrators involved in this incident.

The damaged yew trees included more than five hundred which took over ten years to grow.Mr.Liang explains how devastated he feels about losing these valuable resources saying "I planned on selling them after twenty years but now I've lost tens of thousands of yuan!"

As yet no one has claimed responsibility for this act but local authorities assure us they are actively investigating all leads.The motive behind such destruction remains unclear as well as whether or not further damage will occur in future attacks against private property owners like Mr.Liang who simply want peaceable coexistence with nature without interference from others seeking personal gain through destructive means
